The City of Social Circle Police Department responded to the following complaints between Sept. 16 – 21, 2015. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- On September 16, 2015, at approximately 2:00 pm, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Social Circle Parkway. Upon officers arrival they found the driver with minor injuries and she stated that she had fallen asleep and struck the guardrail and came to a stop in the ditch off the roadway.
- On September 16, 2015, at 5:20 pm, an officer from the Social Circle Police Department made a traffic stops on East Hightower Trail and arrested Serrano Smith, 47 of Hephzibah, Georgia for driving on a suspended license.
- On September 16, 2015, at 7:45 pm, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched to Holly Street @ North Cherokee Road in reference to a hit and run. Upon officers arrival they were advised that a gold or tan Acura, driven by a white female and with a white male passenger, had struck the victim in the rear and then sped away on Holly Street
- On September 19, 2015, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched 154 Alcova Drive, Social Circle High School Football Stadium, in reference to a parked vehicle being struck by a silver truck that fled the scene.
- On September 19, 2015, at 3:10 pm, officers from the Social Circle Police Department responded to a 3-car wreck at South Cherokee Road and the Social Circle Parkway that did not involve injuries.
- On September 20, 2015, at approximately 10:50 pm, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched to Vine Circle and Dove Landing in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, the officers were advised by the victims that two black males armed with handguns jumped out of bushes at Vine Cir. and Walton Court Apartments and robbed them of money, wallets, clothes, and car keys. One of the victims reported being hit in the temple area with the gun by one of the suspects. Investigation continues.
- On September 21, 2015, at approximately 10:10 am, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Pine Circle in reference to an incident of reported harassment. A suspect was named.
- On September 21, 2015, at approximately 3:50 am, officers from the Social Circle Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Dove Point in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who advised that he returned home to find someone had broken into his residence and stole cash, tools, and vodka from the residence. Investigation continues.
