Monroe PD Reports: Car runs into another in parking lot when child left alone in vehicle

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Jan. 15 – 21, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the second part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute call on Lacy St., male subject and female subject arguing again.  Male subject would not allow female subject to get in the shower. Situation mediated.
  • Assault report, ER Staff, Clearview, male subject assaulted last date at Fuzions. Declined report.
  • Welfare Check, Mears Street area. Juvenile walking around with no shoes. Juvenile ran out of the house while being cared for by his older brother. Contact made with his mother. All ok.
  • Accident on Private property, W. Spring St. “Roses” two-vehicles no injuries. Vehicle one owner advised he was inside the vehicle when it slipped out of gear. Witnesses stated a child was the only one inside the vehicle and the owner was inside the store. Video confirmed owner lied about what happened. Owner lives on Springer Lane. When contact is made subject will be charged with Obstruction, D.O.C… Citation issued and passed on to D-shift for delivery/service.
  • Suspicious Person/vehicle, (Go-Cart) anonymous complainant advised subject riding a go-cart in the street drinking alcohol. Contact made with go-cart and driver. Towing Co. impounded go-cart due to warning given by officer on 01/14/16.
  • Dispute call on Norris St., Dispute between neighbors on Norris St. Complainant from Norris Street advised male subject threatened to beat him if he found out he called the police on him. Complainant was advised a report would be filed and told of the warrant process.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle on Wayne Street and W. Spring Street; Subject arrested for Driving without Insurance, Towing Co. towed vehicle.
  • Domestic problem call on S. Madison Ave; William Barnett arrested for Battery Family Violence against female subject.
  • Domestic problem call at Southside MHP; Comp advised he was in a verbal dispute with male subject over rent due, advised of remedies with eviction process. Mediated, all ok.
  • Domestic problem call on E. Fambrough St., Comp advised neighbor’s wife has a TPO against a subject riding by in a Ford Ranger.  No TPO on file, negative contact with other half.
  • Suspicious Person call on Hwy 138 Eastbound on a Bus; Comp advised a subject on the bus was threatening to cut someone, stopped by WCSO out of city limits.
  • Domestic problem call on Vine St., 2 male subjects in a dispute, TPO outstanding but one has a court date to drop the TPO, advised it was a verbal argument.  Other was GOA.  Report taken.
  • Domestic problem call on Towler St., two female subjects antagonizing each other over loud music and noise, advised to keep peace.
  • Wanted person on E. Marable Street; Subject arrested for two failure to appear warrants.
  • Wanted person on Pannell Rd; Subject arrested for Probation Violation.
  • Burglary Report on S. Broad St. “All-Stor” complainant advised the owner of a storage unit, advised his unit was broken into. After reviewing the video it showed baby’s mother entering the unit. Complainant advised Powers he didn’t want police involved and left the area. Complainant found to have warrants out of Walton Co. for a probation violation. Original charges burglary.
  • Verbal Dispute call on Lacy St., complainant verbally disputing with her nephew. Nephew GOA. Ok.
  • Speeding auto/FTML call on East from Loganville, white Chevy Impala, stopped vehicle on East at West Spring St. Exit. Contact made with driver suffering from tremors. Followed to her residence on Birch St. ok.
