Monroe PD: Man charged after he punches out Waffle House window

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between April 8 – 14, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the final part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Welfare Check, S. Broad St., check welfare of subject who left the Advantage Center. Contact made with subject appeared to be OK, advised she was walking to Squirrel Hollow and refused a ride.
  • Burglary call on Pine Knoll St., complainant returned home to find his residence had been entered. Entry made through the back kitchen window. Very small opening. A water bottle (5gal) used for coins was emptied under the kitchen window where entry was made. The empty bottle was collected for possible finger prints. $25.00 was taken from the jar of paper money. Coins left. Nothing else appeared to be missing. T.V’s computer, weapons and lock box under the bed were still inside the residence.
  • Suspicious Person call on E. 5th St., contact made with male subject on W. 5th St. Subject was going through a trash can at a vacant residence. Subject was advised not to trespass on property and sent on his way.  Appeared to be under the influence of some narcotic but was coherent and cooperative. Night shift briefed on above and to watch for subject.
  • Agency Assist, (DFACS call on Davis St., DFACS requested an officer to stand by while they removed two juveniles from the residence. All ok, subject removed and turned over to DFACS without incident.
  • Report of Damage to Property call on Chestnut Lane, The neighbor to the above location wanted to report damage to a vehicle which was left at a vacant residence. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised he didn’t care and it was the banks problem.  The windows to the vehicle were broken out and have been for some time.
  • Suspicious Person call on Georgia Avenue. Family member on scene. Requesting to check for clothes that were possibly taken by DFACS that belonged to her. All ok.
  • Theft by Deception call on Highway 138 – Chick-fil-A. Jovaun Carter scammed cashier out of $97.00. Subject located at Marathon and arrested.
  • Threats call on Sorrells St., complainant ex – named keeps texting and making threats.
  • Domestic Dispute call on Meadow Walk Dr.  Two subjects in verbal argument. Subjects separated and one subject left with his sister.
  • Threats call on West Spring St., Huddle House, and complainant advised an unknown black male has been harassing employees for over a month. First time reporting this to police
  • Damage to Property/Intoxicated Persons call on North Broad St., Waffle House. Zackery Hall arrested and charged – DUI and DOC. Quintin Taylor arrested and charged – DUI underage, Underage consumption of alcohol and Criminal Trespass and DOC. Quintin punched and busted the window completely out of the Waffle House. Zackery was released on copy of citations at Clearview Regional Medical Center due to having two (2) seizures in the E.R.
  • Burglary Report on Meadow View Dr., complainant not on location. Advised her window was damaged. Checked residence negative on any noticeable damage. Contact made with complainant by phone, she is currently in NJ and stated a neighbor called her and told her the back door window was damaged. Complainant could not provide any information regarding the neighbor who called her. Negative on any burglary..
  • Suspicious vehicle call on Cherry Hill Road, Tractor Trailer, complainant advised tractor trailer unable to maintain lane, turned into public works. Contact made with driver all ok.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle on Nowell St., Suspect vehicle, Jammahl Fewquay, arrested C.P. license, possession marijuana less than an ounce. Towing company towed vehicle.
  • Shoplifting call on S. Broad St. “John’s Supermarket”, Juvenile arrested for shoplifting. Turned over to his mother. Second subject Gone On Arrival video to be reviewed. Juvenile complainant to be filed.
  • Theft call at WCSO Lobby, negative on theft. Civil matter over car tag, between male and female subjects. Subjects agree to return the car tag. Advised of Civil process.
  • Dispute, between neighbors on Towler St., Reference to K-9’s being off their leash and going onto one another’s property. Situation mediated. All ok.
  • Dispute, on West Spring St. “Clearview Medical Center, patient elderly white male attempting to leave against Dr.’s advice. Subject returned to hospital.
  • Damage to Property call on E. Church St., complainant advised someone threw a rock through her window, was actually a lawnmower accident, report declined.
  • Dispute on Tanglewood Dr., male subject is on location in violation of his bond conditions to stay away from complainant. Male subject was GOA.  Report taken.
  • Damage to Property call on Wheel House Lane; comp wanted info for the landlord, she wanted the property from the residence before an eviction, all ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint on Carwood Dr., 12-year-old juvenile being unruly, lectured and mother said she would call back if her behavior did not improve.
  • Sexual Assault @ Tanglewood Dr., Dimitri White accused of touching a 9-year-old, White was arrested and charged with simple battery pending additional charges after forensic interview with child.
  • Suspicious Person call on Walton Circle; neighbors advised seeing an unknown subject on the back deck earlier, residence checked, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person call at Roses, W. Spring St; comp advised that a black female took her son outside in the parking lot to spank him then left. GOA, negative contact.
  • Assault @ WCSO lobby; complainant advised her autistic son was pushed against a bus window by another unknown juvenile.  Both attend Atha Elementary, report made.
  • Juvenile Complaint on Wheelhouse Lane; juvenile broke into vacant apartment, was smoking inside.  Subjects were GOA, report made about broken kitchen window.
  • Domestic [problem call on Davis St.,  complainant was in a verbal dispute with her granddaughter about moving out and giving her back her key, complainant advised of the eviction process, granddaughter left with her friend for the evening.  Report made.
  • Prowler report call on Tanglewood Dr., Comp advised someone attempted to get into the window, magnet for homemade alarm fell off, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person call on Walker Dr., subject attempted to enter vehicle, car was unlocked, but nothing taken.  Report made.
  • Domestic problem call on W. Marable St; subject wanted police to stand by while moving his furniture, all ok.
