Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between May 6 – 12, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the Third part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Juvenile complaint on Gliding Lane, Grandmother stated her granddaughter is texting an older male subject. Contact made with the male subject James Lollis who was arrested for enticing a minor.
- Fight call in the area of Young Pines. Caller advised a fight was about to occur in the area. Offices patrolled area heavily with negative contact with any fight or large groups of subjects.
- Juvenile complaint on Cherokee Avenue. Caller advised a group of white male juveniles were holding political yard signs. Contact made with one male (16), one male (15) and one female (15). Not the subjects with signs. Mother of juveniles came and took them home.
- Suspicious Person call on Fleeting Way, Complainant advised subject walked into their residence. Contact made with Steve Crank upon arrival into the subdivision. Crank detained and contact made with complaint. Advised they heard the door chime for the alarm system indicating a door was being opened. The dogs began to run to the back door and Steven Crank was standing on the enclosed porch. Crack asked complainant for a bottle of water and was advised to leave. Crank arrested for criminal trespass. Prohibited entry was also completed barring Crank from Retreat at Mill Creek Subdivision.
- Wanted person on Pine Park and Davis St., Tag reader hit on a vehicle with the owner having a warrants out of Loganville P.D. Contact made with Barry Irvin at 401 Pine Park Street. Arrested for Failure To Appear, original charge of poss. Marijuana.
- Damage to property on Windsor Dr., complainant advised his 2016 Chevy truck was damaged last night while traveling on Walton Road at approximately 2130 hours. He heard sometime hit the front fender and noticed a small dent with dust around it this morning. Complainant declined a report and advised he believed it was someone throwing a rock or using a slingshot. No further at this time.
- Stopping suspicious vehicle on S. Broad St. “Hardy’s” driver Marque Shores Hayes arrested for DUI drugs and seatbelt violation. Refused consent for blood.
- Suspicious Person’s on W. Spring St., “Burger King” subjects in the area panhandling. Family sent on their way and advised not to return.
- Dispute on MLK Blvd. “Applebee’s”, complainant and his family were upset about a “Tic” being on a family member while eating at the restaurant. The manager took a meal off the bill but that was not satisfactory for complainant. A Bill of $58.00 was paid for and the family was made new meals to go. Complainant requested a report for small claims court.
- Shoplifting. Dollar General on S. Broad St., two-white females, one left the store with socks. Officer in the area and was able to make contact with the females in the Southside MHP. Jessica Schwebel arrested for shoplifting and failure to appear warrant out of MPD.
- Stolen vehicle report on King St., Maroon ford Taurus, possibly turned over by subject during FIT operation. Vehicle not stolen. Mother was looking for her daughter’s vehicle. When asked who the vehicle belonged to she said a named subject. No further information was available. Mother just wanting to use the car to transport her grandkids. Unknown whereabouts of the vehicle.
- Dispute on E. Washington St., two females, over kids riding biking in front of the other’s house. Situation mediated. All ok.
- Dispute @ Chevron Station E. Church St., verbal dispute between clerk and customer over money issue, all ok.
- Domestic problem call on W. Creek Circle; Father and 17-year-old son dispute over son being disrespectful, son left on foot, negative contact.
- Domestic problem call on Landers St., Jennifer Carrery arrested for battery after striking her son in the face.
- Suspicious Person on Walton Rd; Comp advised black males were on her porch attempting to steal items, compplainant scared them off discharging her firearm.
- Suspicious/stole Vehicle call on New Lacy St., complainant advised the vehicle was ditched in the cul-de-sac then the driver fled on foot, owner arrived on location said he left his car there, all ok.
- Suspicious vehicle call, Silver Ford Taurus unable to maintain lane, vehicle stopped, not intoxicated, all ok.
- Domestic problem call on Oak Ridge Dr., Complainant and intoxicated mother arguing, mother given a ride to Chickadee Drive, all ok.
- Domestic problem call on Wellington Dr., complainant advised his stepson smoked 38D (Drugs) and was asked to leave, requested a report.
- Suspicious person call on GW Carver, complainant advised that someone was knocking on the door and Turing the door knob. Made contact with male subject who was looking for a female subject, he was advised he should leave.
