Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between May 20 – 26, 2016. This report is split into four parts due to the length. This is the third part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Suspicious Person, New Lacy Street. Party on New Lacy Street. Subjects advised to get out of street.
- Domestic dispute, Landers Street. Verbal dispute between two subjects. Arguing over house key. Report filed for documentation.
- Domestic dispute, Milledge Avenue. Complainant advised subject is intoxicated and refusing to leave. Subject given a ride to the Waffle House.
- Juvenile Complaint on Carwood Drive. Mother called and advised her 16-year-old son is next door and won’t come home. Officer made contact with juvenile and told him to go home. All ok.
- Firearms Discharged on New Lacy Street. Complainant advised she heard one shot from New Lacy Street. Made contact with tenant who was having a party and advised to shut it down due to the complaints. No one stated they heard any shots. Strong odor of Marijuana coming from apartment.
- Domestic dispute, Booth Drive. Call came in from cell phone with a female screaming about someone getting beat up then the line was disconnected. Contact made with tenant who advised there was no fight, but there was a dispute with some friend that are now gone. Not a domestic dispute.
- Assault/Stolen Vehicle on East Church Street. Male subject got jumped, beat up, and a gun put to his head. While going through his pockets stole his car and attempted to extort his wife for $500 dollars after stealing his car. CID notified
- Suspicious Vehicle at 2050 West Spring Street – Walmart. Officer flagged down of a baby in a vehicle with the adult passed out. Checked on subjects. Grandmother fell asleep while waiting for her daughter to get out of store. All ok.
- Domestic dispute, Carver Place. Complainant advised he gave male subject $13 dollars, but he never brought him back his $5 change. Advised of available remedies.
- (Interference with Child Custody) at residence on Walton Road. Complainant advised her 13-year-old daughter has left with a subject who does not have permission to have her child. Juvenile placed onto GCIC as a runaway, but later returned home by subject who was arrested and charged by interference with custody.
- Domestic dispute, Tanglewood Dr., Complainant advised her and her live in boyfriend, disputing with her mother. Situation was medicated and documented. Boyfriend left the residence.
- Domestic dispute, Towler St., Dispute between neighbors over civil issue. One subject arrested for disorderly conduct. All parties were advised of civil remedies.
- Juvenile Complainant, Magnolia Terrace, mother advised neighborhood juveniles were picking on her children and wanted units to speak to kids. Situation mediated.
- Theft Towler St., complainant advised after being arrested, that his wallet was taken sometime while he and his wife were in Snellville. No forced entry to the residence, but wallet was taken from inside the residence. Report taken.
- Theft East Spring St., Store Clerk advised man came into the store and purchased anti-freeze for his vehicle and used the anti-freeze in the parking lot. Clerk advised the male returned to the empty container and obtained a refund. The male was gone when police arrived and the incident occurred 30 minutes prior. Report taken.
- Identity Theft, East Washington, complainant advised he received a letter in the mail advising him that someone used his identity to purchase a residence. Once on scene officer was able to identify the letter was a scam. All ok.
- Juvenile Complaint, Baron Dr., Complainant advised juvenile were hitting a ball with a bat and it had struck her residence, vehicle and windows. Complainant didn’t want a report, but just requested an extra patrol.
- Welfare Check, West Spring St., complainant asked for units to make contact with 87-year-old male that lives on location alone. Complainant advised the male had fallen earlier, and she was now unable to get him on the phone. Contact made with male and advised to contact complainant. All ok.
- Domestic dispute, Magnolia Terrace, mother advised her children were beating on her husband. Due to conflicting stories no charges were filed on the fight. After the fight, the husband retrieved a knife from the residence and chased the juvenile from the residence. He was arrested for Agg. Assault.
- Domestic dispute, Towler St., Male subject out of jail and disputing with neighbors again over missing cooler. Cooler was taken by ex-roommate. All ok. Roommate given warning for trespassing.
- Suspicious Person, Plaza Dr., complainant advised male subject came to her residence and made funny faces at her. Contact made with male subject and he was advised not to go back to complainant residence.
- Suspicious Person, East Church St., Complainant advised they heard someone at their back door. Area and residence checked all ok.
- Domestic dispute, King St., complainant said his stepson was upset because he can’t find a job. Step son gone when police arrived All ok.
- Suspicious Person, S. Broad St. white S10 Truck with white male laying across the front seat behind the building. Vehicle was gone when police arrived
- Domestic dispute, Towler St., complainant said she and her boyfriend were arguing over her being less dependent on him. Boyfriend gone when police arrived
- Civil Dispute, W. Spring St., complainant stated that she gave Arnold Properties her application fee and was told her apartment would be ready soon but now has been told the apartment was rented out to someone else. Complainant said Arnold Properties will not refund her App..Fee.. Advised of civil remedies.
- Fraud complainant taken at MPD lobby, complainant said someone used her Direct Express money card number online for the last three months. Report taken.
- Damage to property, Elm Dr., complainant said someone wrote the word “bitchass” on the trunk of his BMW in chalk.
- Suspicious Person, MLK Jr. Blvd. caller advised possible homeless male sleeping in the trees next to Tractor Supply. Contact made given escort to Hwy 11 truck stop.
- Harassment, S. Madison Ave., complainant said she received an unwanted message of Facebook from an unknown subject that apparently has a love interest in her. Report requested.
- Entering auto complainant taken at MPD lobby. Complainant said that her 2012 GMC Yukon was entered earlier this date on E. Church St. and her wallet was taken.
- Child Abuse complainant taken at PD lobby. Mother said that she found a red mark on her 6-year-old daughter after she had visitation with her father on Spruce Ln. Report taken CID notified.
- Domestic dispute, W. Spring St. contact with father and his two sons. Verbal dispute over living situation. Wilson assisted with getting help with housing, finding a job and food All ok.
- Suspicious Person @ Clearview – Ref to a white male sitting on a blue truck in the ambulance drive possibly drunk. Arrested subject for disorderly conduct, public intox, and improper parking. Vehicle towed.
- Found property on Tanglewood Dr – complainant advised that she found her dog (that has been missing for four months) at this address. Made contact with the resident who advised that it was their dog. Advised of the civil process.
- 911 Hang-Up on Etten Ct – Ref to a dispute over an iPhone that was purchased ($70.00) from Juvenile that did not work. Located juvenile on Parkway Place later and he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Arrested and released back to his grandmother. $57.00 (all he had left from the $70.00) was returned to the complainant for the phone.
- Welfare check on GW Carver Dr. – Anonymous complainant advised that a mother was cursing and very cruel to her 5-yearold female juvenile. Made contact and all parties were ok.
- Child abuse call on S. Broad St. – Ref to 16-year-old male juvenile advised that he had been chocked by his mother. Made contact with all parties involved and several witnesses/neighbors. Report completed and referred to DFACS.
- Burglary on Reed Way – complainant advised that between May 22 and 24 persons unknown pried the rear door open and stole three pairs of Jordan’s, two pairs of Kobe’s, a 65” Sony flatscreen, a queen size mattress and multiple pieces of jewelry.
- Domestic dispute, Plaza Dr – complainant advised that female subject damaged her belongings when she threw them out of the residence. No items were damaged; female subject loaded her belongings on a trailer and moved out.
- Unknown problem on Bell St – Verbal dispute between mother and daughter. Daughter agreed to leave.
- Suspicious Person, Sorrells St – complainant advised that he was on his way to work and there are three males hanging around his shed. Complainant just wanted officers to patrol the area. Officer observed three male subjects walking on the sidewalk, nothing suspicious.
- Domestic dispute, Towler St – Ref to subjects on location disputing. Made contact with male and female subjects who were verbally disputing. Female subject called for her brother to come pick her up.
- Suspicious Person at Clearview – While patrolling, officer’s observed a male subject asleep inside of an asphalt truck. Made contact with male subject who is working in the area and can’t afford a hotel room. Advised him that if the hospital staff did not want him on the property then he would need to find another place to sleep.
- Burglary in progress E. Washington St – Complainant advised that he woke up when he heard subjects talking outside of his window. He said that there were lights on in his neighbor’s house that usually are not on. No one resides in this house. Residence was secure. It appears as if the prior tenant was a hoarder.
- Welfare Check, Harris St., make contact with male subject, reference to his wife not hearing from him since last date. Contact made and advised him to call his wife. All ok.
- Theft report, S. Broad St., complainant advised his lawn mower was taken from the crawl space under his residence which was locked. Report taken.
- Suspicious Person, S. Madison Ave., complainant advised a female was sleeping in the park and wanted her checked. Contact made with female who was sent on her way without incident.
- Theft report, W. Spring St., the complainant advised previous owner of the building used their key to enter and took several items. Worth $3500.00.
- Theft report, Bold Springs Ave. JDC Printing, Dispatch advised an ATM was taken. Negative on ATM, AC Unit was taken over two weeks ago. Report taken.
- Unknown Law, Unisia Dr. Possibly injured employee in the warehouse. Warehouse employee passed out while filling orders. Transported by EMS to Clearview for further evaluation. Female was conscious and alert.
- Domestic problem, Report only taken at MPD Lobby, occurred on Barron Dr., mother had questions regarding Temporary protection order process/warrant process against her son. Mother advised of remedies. Son contacted and advised not to contact his mother.
- Warrant pickup, So. Madison Ave. S.E. Corrections, Probation violation subject Turned Over To WCSO.
- Arrest at MPD, CID to WC Jail. Benjamin T. McElwaney, arrested, theft by deception.
- Harmful threats, E. Church St., mother advised her adult son was threatening suicide and was in his bedroom with a knife. He came out of the bedroom upon officers entering the residence and appeared to be manic and talking about the war and hearing voice but said he didn’t want to hurt anyone. Officer Harrison checked the bedroom for any weapons and discovered a bag of methamphetamine and a pipe in plain view on a night stand. Subject was arrested for possession of Meth after it was tested and showed a positive result. Mother was upset and refused to believe her son was smoking meth.
- Fight call at Forrest Lane, dispute between, Michael Gibbons and male subject, Gibbons was yelling at male subject’s wife and Gibbons then slapped subject in the head and Gibbons was arrested simple battery. WTB by officer.
- Dispute, Walton Road, mother advised her daughter was babysitting on Walton Road and the children from another home on Walton Road they were causing trouble name calling. Contact was made with all parties and situation was mediated.
