Walton County Fire Rescue officials report that strong winds in the area caused a dead tree to fall on a passing car on Youth Monroe Road.
“The occupant was transported to the hospital by Walton County EMS with some lacerations,” said Capt. Jeff Allen with WCFR. “Fortunately, the tree struck the front of the car, not the roof, or it could have been much worse.”
Allen asked that motorists use caution on the roads today due to the weather conditions.
“WCFR as well as other agencies in the area continue to be busy answering weather related calls,” he said. “Please use caution as the weather rolls through today.”
