A body discovered in the Fort Yargo lake on Aug. 19, 2016, was identified as 52-year-old Lynn Ann Bowen of Covington, Ga. The Winder Police Department said that, at this time, they do not believe foul play is involved. The body has been taken to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
According to the Winder Police Department, the body was discovered at about 8:30 a.m. Friday in the water near the beach area designated for public swimming by a man who was fishing. He called 911 and the Winder Police and Fire departments retrieved the body. A vehicle and some personal items near the place where the body was found were determined to belong to the victim.
