UPDATE:
The Georgia Department of Public Safety said 17-year-old Chase Brendel, 17, from Stockbridge was the teen who died in Wednesday night’s motorcycle wreck in Walton County. According to the department, Brendel was was traveling northbound on Cannon Farm Road when he locked up his brakes on a downhill causing him to slide, upright, into an oncoming vehicle. He hit the front of the vehicle head-on and was thrown from his motorcycle. He did not survive the wreck..
UPDATE:
Georgia State Patrol confirm that this wreck was a fatality. Walton County Sheriff’s Office report that a 17-year-old Rockdale County resident lost his life in the wreck. He is reported to have lost control of his motorcycle in the curve and hit an oncoming vehicle.
INITIAL STORY:
Officials with Walton County Fire Rescue reported on Wednesday night that an air ambulance has been requested for a serious wreck involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol are on the scene. WCSO is asking the public to avoid the area. Cannon Farm Road just south of Highway 138 is closed due to the wreck.
