Monroe PD: Burglar nets .380 pistol, Boy bit by snapping turtle

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Oct. 2 – 8, 2015. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the final part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

  • Burglary E.Washington St. Bert Mayo arrived home to notice his home broken into, reporting a .380 pistol missing.
  • Suspicious Person – Norris St ref to a man standing in the yard of Norris St, he then ran to a Radford St house, which was locked up and vacant.  A resident then advised officers that they saw a black male running down 5th St prior to officer arrival.
  • Disturbing the peace in the area of Classic Trail, three loud bangs were heard all appeared 10-4 no foot traffic or banging heard
  • Alarm @ Tractor Supply audible alarm. all 10-4
  • Alarm @ Tractor Supply, 3rd alarm this shift, all appeared 10-4
  • Warrant arrest in Hall County Angeline Hall arrested for Monroe FTA.
  • Domestic dispute in Connestoga MHP, Gillespie subject arrested by WCSO for domestic in county last date.
  • Accident – Towler Street @ Old Mill Creek Way, 2 vehicle.
  • Accident – S. Broad and Harmony trip. 2 vehicles, with injuries turned over to GSP.
  • Area Check Old Mill Point, ref. subjects throwing rocks against residence. neg. contact.
  • Suspicious persons – Black female and male in black Honda in Baron Properties. Female pointing gun out window. Anonymous caller.
  • Psychotic subject – Man refusing to leave E.R. and stating that he was going to kill himself by walking into traffic. E.R. nurse Evelyn stated Price had been cleared by mental health twice and had been discharged. E.R. nurse Evelyn stated that Price was faking the suicide threat. Transported Price to Advantage mental health and turned over to staff.
  • Noise complaint Carver Place. Resident was yelling at children for throwing food. all 10-4
  • Suspicious person, E. 5th street. Johnny Willis Jr. resident of personal care home located at S. Broad Street, wandered off and got lost. Returned to personal care home. all 10-4
  • Domestic Pine Park Street, siblings David and Sabrina Brooks cited for DOC.
  • Civil issue @ WCSO, Joe Gillespie needed info to retrieve vehicle from Vine Street – vehicle retrieved.
  • David Harris requesting escort to Marable street to retrieve property. Harris left before officer arrival.
  • Damage to Porperty, Nowell St., Martalian Hannah front door painted with pink paint.
  • Damage to Property, @  MPD. Ya, Asheta Allen’s vehicle hit in rear bumper last week.
  • Harassing phone calls, Bankers Blvd. Kim Brown wanted officer to contact Jajuan Kelly and advise to stop calling.
  • Accident S. Broad and Vine Street. 2 vehicles. No injuries, tot GSP.
  • Hit & Run, MPD, maroon F150 with handicap tag struck comp. veh. at S. Madison and Vine street. goa toward Towler Street. neg. contact
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Monroe Auto Repair. Black Nissan with black male selling batteries. neg. contact.
  • Spring St. subject inquiring about fundraising in city. Advised of permit process.
  • Suspicious Vehicle E. Church street. white semi truck in and out of traffic. 321 had contact all 10-4
  • Juvenile Complaint Roses Express. Juveniles skateboarding in front of the store. They were advised not to do so.
  • Fire Arms Discharge  6th St. Joan reporting of fire crackers that sound like gun shots, all 10-4
  • Animal Complaint – Pine Park 4-year-old bit by snapping turtle. Mom was concerned for rabies – Advised turtles don’t carry rabies.
  • Suspicious Person Plaza Dr ref to Mr  Watkins not want long to go home after treatment, he was given escort to Stowers Park
  • Alarm Bold Springs – 10-4
  • Trouble Unknown Tower St.  Ref to a group of people chasing another male.  Made contact with Mr Floyd, he was talking to Tre Cooper about coming off his bond and Cooper jumped out the truck and fled on foot.  Civil issue, all 10-4.  Cooper was cleared by EMS after complaint about an asthma attack
  • Accident Hwy 138 Near Chick Fil A. No damage to vehicles. Parties involved advised they would handle amongst themselves.
  • Animal Complaint 6th St. – Teresa Kirk advised of a dispute earlier with an older gentleman on 6th St over his dogs being loose.  She was advised of remedies to avoid confrontation and more was left for A/C to follow up
  • Theft report – Pine Park St Tanda Williams advised shes staying with friends at this address and the person (Boyd Dwayne Walker) she was with earlier this evening has yet to return with her bag that had her Xanax, Ga Id, social security card, and clothes. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Carwood Dr. Brenda Sneed advised that a guy named Ben walked through her yard. Subject was GOA
  • Suspicious Person S Broad @ Johns Supermarket Paul Stone arrested for Public & Pedestrians Must Yield If Not At Crosswalk
  • Damage to Property Conestoga MHP Verbal dispute between Jonathan Cross and Katrina Moon, both drunk, situation mediated.
  • Theft report Bridge Port Pl  complainant reporting the theft of an Xbox and a galaxy phone, possibly taken by male subject.
  • Suspicious Person Heritage Park, ref to persons going through the callers vehicle, area check requested, all appeared to be 10-4
  • Discharging firearms Pine Park St, 2 gunshot victims (David Brooks and Flora Holman) transported by EMS to Clearview. Brooks then transported to Athens. Charles Murray identified as shooter and Eric Harris was identified as being on scene, fight broke out then Murray removed a shotgun from a back pack and fired one shot. CID located one wad from shotgun.
  • Agency assist South Madison Ave. Chelsea Sharpe with Bench Mark Human Services, needing to check on Rita Barnes who called for detox, she was taken to Clearview for mental evaluation.
