The City of Social Circle Police Department responded to the following complaints between Oct. 12 – 19, 2015. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- On Monday, Oct. 12, at about 10:34 a.m., officers received a criminal damage to property report concerning a vehicle that had been parked at the south Walton Park. The complainant advised that the fuel line of the vehicle had possibly been cut. The estimated cost of the damage was $150. The investigation continues.
- On Wednesday, Oct. 14, at about 3:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Meadows Lane concerning a stolen residential air conditioner unit. Officers were advised that the last time the outside AC unit had been noted at the residence was on Oct. 2. The estimated value of the missing unit was $2,000. The investigation continues.
- Just after midnight on Oct. 15, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Boxwood Street concerning a robbery. The victim advised that she was siting in a vehicle at the residence when she was approached by two black males that pointed a gun and took property from her. The property included a small amount of cash, a cell phone, clothing and other personal items that had an estimated value of approximately $311. The incident is under investigation.
- On Saturday, Oct. 17, at about 12:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church at 813 South Cherokee Road, Social Circle, concerning a two vehicle motor vehicle accident. The investigation resulted in a citation for following too closely. No injuries were reported.
- On Saturday, Oct. 17, at about 3:47 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Hightower Trail in reference to damage to property. Officers were advised that a driver had struck a steel guard rail at the location and that damage had been done to driver’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred on private property.
- On Sunday, Oct. 18, at about 6 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Boxwood Street in reference to a residential burglary. A Smith & Wesson, 9 mm pistol was reported to be missing from the residence, along with a 32 inch Vizo television. The total estimated value of the missing items was estimated at about $448.50. The investigation continues.
- On Sunday, Oct. 18, at about 1:55 p.m., officers received a report of theft by taking that was reported to have taken place at a residence earlier on the same date at the police department. The residence was described as being located in the 400 block of Dove Place. The victim reported that $60 in cash was missing from her purse that had been located in her bedroom. A possible suspect was named and the investigation continues.
- On Monday, Oct. 19, at about 2:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on I-20, within the city limits of Social Circle, with a vehicle that had an inoperable brake light. The investigation results din the arrest of Bradly Curtis Davis (31, of Moncks Corner, SC), for operating a vehicle with an inoperable brake light and possession of marijuana (less than an ounce).
- On Monday, Oct. 19, at about 3:25 p.m., officers received a report of fraud that had involved checks drawn on the bank account number of Foster Concrete, of Social Circle, and the reported transactions occurring in locations in the Atlanta area. The investigation continues.
