Monroe Public Safety Director Keith Glass advised that the Georgia State Patrol is investigating an accident involving a vehicle and a cyclist. Glass said that Mattaius McDowell was struck by a vehicle driven by Willie Sorrell at E. Marable Street and Walton Road at about 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
“McDowell was wearing all black while riding a camouflage bike across the street,” Glass said. “McDowell was transported to Athens Regional with cuts and scrapes on his head.”
