Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Jan. 8 – 14, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the fourth part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction.
- Suspicious Vehicle call on West Spring Street (Pickers Paradise). White Volkswagen parked on location with flood light on underneath the vehicle. Vehicle been on location for several months. Appeared someone was working on it and left without turning light off.
- Civil Issue call on East Spring Street (Popeye’s Chicken). Complainant advised his ex-girlfriend set his clothes on fire. Complainant was followed to East Marable Street where contact was made with ex-girlfriend who stated she did burn his clothes because she paid for them.
- Damage to Property call on Alcovy St., complainant advised her brother turned utilities off to house which he is on the lease. Advised of eviction and TPO process
- Suspicious Person call on Pinecrest Dr., White male dressed in dark clothing riding a bicycle without lights. Identified male subject, he resides on 5th Street and was going to a friend house on Carwood Drive.
- Domestic problem call on Booth Dr., in reference to a female subject intoxicated and in verbal dispute with male subject. Subject given an escort to her sister’s apartment on Plaza Dr., No signs of family violence.
- Suspicious Vehicle call on Highway 78 (Walton Truck Stop). Complainant advised a blue Kia Sorento pulled into gas station, struck curb, possibly intoxicated. Vehicle was GOA upon officer arrival, unknown direction of travel. Complainant did not stay on scene.
- Entering Auto call on Alcovy St., 2013 Hyundai Elantra entered by a male wearing a hoody and pants, last seen towards Shamrock. Officer’s located a subject matching the description as the subject fled on foot behind a residence before contact could be made. Unknown direction of travel due to distance between subject and patrol car.
- Suspicious Person all walking on South Broad Street near Walker Street. Subject walking home from Davis Street and was identified. Thought he was subject from earlier entering auto but did not fit the description and photograph of footprint.
- Domestic problem call on Roosevelt St., complainant called to state his girlfriend tossed his phone out in the yard and broke his cigarettes during a verbal dispute. Complainant was intoxicated and his phone was located inside the house. No criminal offenses occurred. The dispute was over sexual relations
- Suspicious Vehicle call on Baron Dr., While doing an area check, the officer observed a vehicle with its door open. The front door of the residence was also unsecured and subject was located inside the residence asleep and intoxicated.
- Medical call on Walker Dr., subject took unknown amount of pills, transported to Clearveiw Medical for further evaluation.
- Speeding/reckless auto call on N. Broad at Waffle House heading South on Hwy. 11. Silver Honda, got out with vehicle at Gold & Pawn S. Broad St. Driver given warning on manor of driving. All ok.
- Suspicious Person’s call on N. Broad St. “Food Mart”, clerk advised four black males were loitering. Subjects left upon officer’s arrival. All ok.
- Fraud Report on Bankers Blvd., “Center for Medical Resources” female employee forged another female’s signature on DFACS paperwork. WTBT by officer.
- Fraud Report taken at MPD Lobby, complainant advised he was missing funds from his retirement account. He suspects an AIG employee. Complainant was referred to the County due to living outside the city limits.
- Suspicious Person/EMS assist on S. Broad St. “Golden Pantry” subject at gas pumps for over an hour. Contact made with male subject no signs of drug or alcohol use. Contact made with his father to pick him up and drive his vehicle. Male subject was picked up by a friend and his keys were left with the clerk at the request of his father. Vehicle left on location.
- Officer’s call out with subject on Ford St., male subject needed to get his jacket from Ford St. and wanted a bus ticket. Sent to FISH for help.
- Other Law, Tanglewood Dr., caller advised she needed a report after giving her personal information to a fraudulent company she was working for. Report taken.
- Suspicious Person while area check on Wheelhouse Lane, Subject identified as Montavious Walker. Arrested for Probation violation out of Gwinnett County. TOT Walton County Jail.
- Suspicious Person call on E. Spring Street Laundry; homeless male subject on location was advised not to return scaring off customers. All 10-4.
- Burglary call on Baron Dr., Window broken out X-Box taken, occurred between 1730-1800 hours. Suspects named, report taken.
- Threats call on Tanglewood Dr., male subject making threats to kill female subject over the phone. Contact made with Ridgeway on Reed Way and he denied statement.
- Suspicious Vehicle call at Pickers Paradise; White Volkswagon on location, all ok.
- Suspicious Person call on E. Spring Street Pizza Hut; subject given escort home.
- Suspicious Person call at Vision Center near Quality Foods; delivery lady drove her vehicle through the grass to drop off package on the back steps. All ok.
- Wanted person call on Walton Rd; Clifton Speagle arrested for Gwinnett County FTA Warrant.
