UPDATE
A woman was seriously injured in a single vehicle wreck on Double Springs Church Road on Friday afternoon. According to Walton County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Craig League, the call came in at about 3:31 p.m.
“A Chevy Astro van traveling eastbound on Double Springs Church Road lost control in a curve and left the roadway. The van struck a large tree and continued into the woods about 35 feet from the road,” League said. “There was one female patient who had to be extricated from the van using the jaws of life rescue tools. She had serious injuries and was transported to Athens Regional Medical center by Walton EMS. The other occupants of the vehicle had only minor injuries.
