Monroe PD Reports: Man charged with shoplifting for drinking $23 of alcohol before leaving store

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between May 27 – June 6, 2016. This report is split into four parts due to the length. This is the second part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute on Green St – Ref to female subject on location drunk and causing a disturbance. Subject was Gone On Arrival.
  • Suspicious person at Longhorn – Ref to a black male stumbling in the parking lot. Searched the area with negative contact.
  • Search the area on Perry St in the hole – Ref to someone throwing toilet paper in the trees. Searched the area with negative contact.
  • Prowler call on Baron Dr – Ref to complainant seeing a black male wandering around in the cul-de-sac. Searched the area with negative contact.
  • Dispute on Green St – Ref to subject back on location. Arrested subject for public intoxication.
  • Assist at Clearview Regional Medical Center, patient had no way home from ER and had a broken leg. escorted to  W. Creek Circle.
  • Harassment on Plaza Trc.., complainant said he ex-girlfriend who he has a child with keeps calling and texting him. Advised of Temporary Protection Order process.
  • Domestic problem on W. Spring St., contact with complainant who said that she called the Police because male subject was on location trying to talk to her. Male subject said he just wanted to ask her if she is pregnant with his child. Situation mediated.
  • Domestic problem on W. 5th St., called in by cell phone with no voice contact. Dispatch advised can hear a female screaming in the background phase 2 plotted to this address. Contact made with female subject who advised no one at her address had called and she and her kids were all that were on location. All ok.
  • Area check on E. Church St. at Page St., complainant said subjects were walking past her house from Davis St. harassing her. All parties advised to stay away from each other and the Good behavior warrant process.
  • Shoplifting 2050 W. Spring St.  Subject arrested for shoplifting $23 dollars’ worth of alcoholic beverages and drinking them in the store.
  • Domestic problem on Vine St., complainant advised she and her ex-boyfriend got into an argument over money. Ex-boyfriend was GOA.  Complainant advised she just called for a escort while ex-boyfriend was on location to pick up belongings. Advised of remedies.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Ridge Rd., mother said she and her daughter got into an argument and threatened to break her phone. Situation mediated.
  • Intoxicated person on Felker St – Ref to a subject urinating in complainant’s yard. Made contact with male subject who did not appear to be intoxicated. Escorted subject to residence on New Lacy Street.
  • Traffic Stop at John’s Supermarket – Arrested female subject for failure to maintain lane and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. Released on copy of citations due to having three small children in the vehicle and no one could pick them up.
  • Traffic Stop at Clearview – Arrested Ronald Neil for speeding, driving on a suspended license, open container, and DUI (.181).
  • Dispute on Maple Ln – Ref to the apartment manager and other subjects disputing with her. Verbal dispute between two subjects. Situation was mediated and parties were separated.
  • Dispute at JB Food Mart – Ref to three black males causing a disturbance and the owner wanting them banned. Subjects were GOA. One of the subjects was identified from the photo.
  • Theft on Milledge Ave – complainant stated that female subject took his $450.00 LG Smart Phone. No serial numbers.
  • Search the area on Lacy St – Ref to a male subject walking down the street with a child and other subjects approached him. The anonymous complainant wanted police to check the area due to their concern for the subject and did not want to meet with officers. Searched the area with negative contact.
  • Domestic dispute on Mobley Cir – Dispute between male and female subjects. Parties were separated. Escorted male subject to GW Carver.
  • Warrant pick up GW Carver from above call– Kevon Harris gave false name and DOB. Arrested Marquise Harris for False name/DOB and Barrow County Probation Violation.
  • Burglary call on Turner St – Complainant advised that the back door was kicked in sometime between 05-26-16 and 05-29-16. Laptop and desktop computer were taken. No serial numbers available.
  • Dispute on Atha St., dispute between male and female subjects. Situation mediated, advised of remedies.
  • Domestic dispute on Wheelhouse Lane, male and female subjects disputing over male buying a tattoo machine. Situation mediated, parties separated. Report to be filed. Domestic.
  • Suspicious Person, S. Broad St. “Hardy’s” on the sidewalk, subject identified as female of Poplar St. Monroe, walking with her dog and cat waiting for her husband to meet her. Advised of loitering ordinance and advised to keep moving.
  • Animal complaint Lopez Lane, complainant advised loose K-9 would not let her out of her residence. K-9 located on the porch on Lopez Lane. Contact made with owner and K-9 was put up. All ok.
  • Dispute nonviolent on Ash St.  Complainant advised of a verbal dispute with female subject and wanted her removed from his property. Both subjects intoxicated. Female subject GOA upon arrival.
  • Discharging firearms in the area of Mill Street. Caller advised he heard multiple shots fired in the area. Officers checked area and located a small group setting off fireworks at the corner of Norris Street and South Madison Avenue. All ok.
  • Criminal trespass on Ash St., complainant advised female subject was back on location and this time she broke his front window. Contact made with female and she was served with a prohibited entry. The window was not damaged. No acts of Family Violence.
