Monroe PD Reports: Door kicked in, TV stolen, dog left in hot car

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between  June 26 – 30, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the first part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to property, S. Broad St., complainant advised tractor trailer that was on location turned around in his driveway and caused damage to it.
  • Walk in report lobby of PD, Owner wanted resident to move out of his house. Owner advised of eviction process.
  • Area check call at Anytime Fitness, reference to a kid in car.  Located silver pick up on side of building parked under shaded tree with windows down, dog in car, not child.  Vehicle removed by driver.
  • Welfare check, Bridgeport place. Caller advised that her sister phone line has been busy for hours and she could not contact her sister.  Contact made with the sister and she called her sister.
  • Domestic dispute, West Spring Street, WalMart.  Call stemming from previous welfare check on dog. Two subjects disputing over dog in vehicle.  Driver said she ran in for a few minutes and came back.  Driver was advised of cruelty to animal laws. Situation Mediated.
  • Suspicious person walking down East Marable St. near Gatewood. Subject appeared disoriented.  Prior to officer arrival, family retrieved male.  Area checked with negative contact.
  • Damage to property, South Broad St., complainant stated her vehicle was struck while parked at Dollar General on South Broad.
  • Welfare check, Plaza Trail. Contact made with female, All Ok.
  • Dispute, Towler St., In reference to Complainant wanting female to leave.  Female was GOA.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Waverly Circle & Alcovy Road. Complaint of a red Ford Mustang illegally parked. Vehicle was properly parked in a parking space and unoccupied. All ok.
  • Identity Theft, Spruce Ln., Complainant stated her ex-girlfriend stole her social security card, Identification card, birth certificate and fled to Florida.  Report taken concerning the theft.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Towler Street. Complainant wanted to advise officers of suspicious vehicles in the area possibly related to drug activity.  Vehicles GOA.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Davis St., Complainant reported a white male pushed her 4-year-old child.  Complainant declined to cooperate once finding out the suspect was not being arrested.  Report declined by complainant.  All ok.
  • Animal Complaint, Plaza Dr., Complainant needed assistance removing a bat from the residence that made its way in through an open door.  Officers safely removed the bat with no injury to the bat or complainants property.  All ok.
  • Dispute, N Midland Ave., In reference to male and female verbally arguing. Female agreed to leave the scene.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Knight Street, Civil dispute over a house key.  Complainant and suspect were advised to meet in a public place to exchange property so there are not any further incidences. An occupant of the suspects’ vehicle, Darius Jackson was arrested for providing false name and date of birth.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Clearview Regional, Subject on location intoxicated and causing a disturbance. After contact he stated he just wanted to speak to somebody about some problems.  Walton County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to drive him to his residence in Walton County.
  • Damage to Property, Plaza Dr & Davis St., complainant was approaching Davis St on Plaza Dr and an unknown suspect threw a rock hitting and damaging her passenger side of her vehicle.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr.,reference to two groups disputing. Complainant refused to give an address but stated he was grilling out when a group of people started arguing with them.  Officer conducted an area check and couldn’t locate any group disputing. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Washington St & Highschool Ave., reference to suspicious person standing next to the Armory.  Area check was conducted of surrounding area but the suspicious person was GOA.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Glen Iris Dr., reference to a black male wearing all black seen walking in complainant’s back yard.  Male was GOA and was not located.
  • Suspicious Person, Church St., reference to a male in all red walking down the road.  Subject stated he had an argument with his mother and went for a walk.  Subject stated he would walk back home.  All ok.
  • Burglary, Tanglewood Dr., Complainant came home to find his rear door kicked in and his 55” LG television stolen.  Report taken.
