Officials with Walton County Fire Rescue confirm that there will be traffic delays on Highway 138 for about an hour from 9 p.m. Sunday night due to a large oak tree that came down during the storm and is partially blocking the road. WCFR Battalion Chief Craig League said it is also laying across a telephone transmission line.
“It going to be at least an hour. We have crews coming from DOT to assist. It’s going to require some heavy equipment to move it,” League said. “The roadway is open. Traffic is shifted over.”
League said Walton County Sheriff’s Office is also on the scene. He said the tree down down just east of Walnut Grove( towards Monroe) near Forester Cemetery Road.
