Monroe police are interested in speaking with a man who was allegedly involved in a road rage incident in Monroe sometime before 8 p.m. on Sunday evening.
According to the police report from Monroe Police Department, police responded to a report of reckless driving on Walton Street in Monroe. The complainant told police that she had seen a red pickup truck driving reckless through the neighbor, followed by a silver SUV. She said she attempted to stop the red pickup and the driver told her that the people in the silver SUV were trying to kill him. He then sped away.
The officer was then deferred to another call, this time the complainant reported that a small red Mazda pickup had tried to run them off the road while they were traveling north on Highway 11, south of the City of Monroe. In this instance the complainants were a man and a woman who told police that he Maza pickup allegedly passed them and then slammed on brakes, causing them to almost run off the road. They told police the driver then allegedly got behind them and chased them through Monroe. The vehicles entered Walton Street and subsequently turned onto Nowell Street. The two parties confronted each other and a verbal alteration ensued. According to the report, the two complainants were struck by the driver of the Mazda while he was “flaring his hands,” hitting the woman in the face, knocking her down and also busting the man’s upper lip. The subject is then said to have fled the scene. Police are interested in speaking to the driver of the red Mazda pickup.
“The victim was unable to provide a license plate number. We are interested in speaking with the driver of the red Mazda pickup truck,” said Lt. Tracy Hanson with Monroe Police Department. “He was described as a white male, 18-20 years of age, slim build and medium muscle tone.”
