Monroe PD Reports: Man accused of threatening Hillary Clinton online, local campaign signs stolen

Monroe PD responded to the following calls between  Oct. 21 – 27, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the final  post for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Welfare Check, McDaniel St., an anonymous complainant advised male subject who is deaf was making threats against Hillary Clinton on Facebook. Officers met with male subject’s father who allowed us to search the residence, to which male subject was not at home. Several weapons were located in male subject’s room.  Which are all legally owned. Male subject arrived home and produced a valid carry permit. Male subject denied making any threats toward Ms. Clinton, but did admit to talking politics while on Facebook.  The threats were unfounded at this time. A report will be on filed to document the call.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Mathis St., complainant advised suspect vehicle used in the burglary of vending machines in the area. Officers made contact with suspects and followed them to the P.D. to be interviewed.  Shawna Allen Glen and Chad Berggren. Arrested Berggren for Criminal Trespass X-3, Theft by Taking X-2.  Glen arrested for Party to a crime X-2 and warrants out of Barrow County for Probation violation.  Transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Unknown Problem, Coker Field area S. Madison Ave., the complainant advised juveniles were walking in the area and one was crying and bleeding. Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Dispute, West Spring St. Murphy’s USA, customer had argued over gas he said he didn’t pump. Clerk counted it as a loss and let customer leave.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, North Broad & Nowell St., driver cited no insurance and suspended tag. Vehicle impounded by towing company.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, W. Spring at Car wash, juvenile cited for texting while driving, running a red light and driving without a license. Juvenile complaint to be filed. Vehicle and juvenile released to his mother on scene.
  • Theft Report, MLK Jr. Blvd., Applebee’s, complainant reports cell phone taken on Sunday.
  • Loud Music, Jessica Way, Ref to music coming from house across the Street, located open door at vacant residence on Mathis St. during area check for loud music. Building cleared and re-secured, all ok, negative contact with loud music.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., McDonald’s Ref to several vehicles blocking gas pumps and drive through. Lot cleared of vehicles, all ok.
  • Officer’s request to Towler St., Subject wanting ride to Greyhound bus stop, Given escort to Taylor’s.
  • Agency Assist, Michael Cir., Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Law Enforcement agencies advised of a female subject on location with several valid felony warrants. Negative contact. Sub lives in Atlanta
  • Follow up at MPD parking lot,  ref to previous theft report at Applebee’s. Comp advised she knew identity of thief.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, in the area of South Broad and L&P towards city. Vehicle failure to maintain lane and speeding. Stopped vehicle at John’s Supermarket. Driver checked ok advised vehicle having transmission issues.
  • Domestic problem in the area of Landers St. Caller in white Kia advised her boyfriend hit her, unfamiliar with where she is or house number. Area checked with negative contact
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Alcovy St., Old hospital, Mark advised of vehicle parked on Alcovy side and can hear noises. All ok, subject is Windstream employee upgrading system and will be on location through midnight.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Church St., Chestnut Cupboard. Vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot, all ok.
  • 911 hang up call, West Spring St., Clearview. Male voice whispering in the background. Call possible came from an ICU patient, hospital staff advised all ok.
  • 911 hang up call, West Creek Cir., Ref to foot traffic cutting though yard to go to Walton Mills, all ok.
  • Dispute, Double Springs Church Road, MAHS, Called in by the assistant principal, dispute between two juvenile subjects. First dispute was on 10/25 where one juvenile flipped over a desk. Second dispute was on 10/26 where same juvenile threw a pair of scissor at the other juvenile and admitted to doing so. Juvenile complaint to be filed against that juvenile for Agg. Assault against other juvenile.
  • Fraud Report, Great Oaks Dr. “Sears” a customer bought $427.99 of merchandise using a bad check. Report taken.
  • Sexual Battery report taken at MPD Lobby, complainant advised a named male juvenile simulated sexual acts with her daughter 5 or more years ago. Her daughter was 5-years old at the time and juvenile was 9 years old. CID is already aware of the above. Report taken.
  • Fraud Report taken at MPD Lobby, daughter advised her mother used her identity to set up an account with Windstream without her permission.
  • Welfare Check, Knight St., contact made with male subject. All ok, was asleep in his bed.
  • Dispute, W. Spring St. “Classic Cleaners, complainant advised his pants were ruin when dropped off for alterations requested report.
  • Dispute, Davis St., two female subjects were verbally disputing. Both are neighbors and were advised to stay away from one another.
  • Fight call, N. Broad St. “Susie’s Wings” 2-black males fighting. Subjects were GOA. Negative contact. Subject damage to the menu board at Susie’s report taken.
  • Dispute, W. Marable St., complainant arguing with his roommate over property. Civil over property advised of remedies.
  • Illegal Dumping, Knight St., complainant advised someone was dumping trash behind lot 10. He advised he found mail in the trash belonging to a female resident. Officer made contact with female resident who stated she didn’t know how her trash got behind the trailer and she had put it out for Monroe to pick up. Female resident agreed to clean up the trash. No further.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West & No. Broad Exit. Maroon passenger vehicle heading West in the East bound lane. Officers checked 78 area within the city limits with negative contact with the vehicle. No further calls.
  • Dispute, Hometown Tire, W. Spring, complainant advised she was missing her cell phone after vehicle went in for repair. Employee advised they did not take her phone. Value $140. No serial numbers for an L.G. Report taken.
  • Suspicious person, Armistead Circle, complainant advised male subject she knows as name given keeps coming by her residence uninvited. Male subject was advised to leave to which he cooperated. See further next call.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, Etten Dr., Honda Accord driven by male subject from above call returned to the area to pick up something he dropped. Vehicle was unregistered since March. 10/28 being used was from his F-150 which was no longer insured or registered. Honda Accord impounded by towing company. Male subject cited for unregistered motor vehicle and improper tag.
  • Burglary Report, Dorothy Dr., complainant advised his residence was entered sometime today between 0730 hours and 1500 hours. 2-flatscreen T.V.s an x-box and jewelry were taken. The jewelry box was taken for fingerprints. No serial numbers at this time.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Wal-Mart, male and female arrested for shoplifting. Charges taken by officer. Subjects transported to the Walton County Jail for booking.
  • Dispute, King St., complainant advised a named male subject called her kids racial names. Complainant wasn’t outside to hear the remarks but requested a report be completed.
  • EMS Assist, Meadowalk Dr., female subject hasn’t eaten in 3 days, denied transport.
  • Suspicious person, ref to kids on bikes in the area of the old hospital and Alcovy St., called in by construction security guard, area checked with negative contact.
  • Domestic problem, Milledge Ave., father’s son disputing with ex-wife. Ex-wife retrieved items and left prior to officer arrival.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., mother advised bus driver put hands on her daughter. The daughter said bus driver tried to keep her on bus, no marks or bruising.
  • Dispute on Page St., complainant stated subjects owed him money for crack cocaine. Complainant walking around and officers unable to locate him.
  • Suspicious person, Alcovy St., complainant advised that his wife heard voices, concerned due to recent break ins at their residence. Area checked with negative contact. Voices could be coming from residence around corner
  • Officer request to Walton St.  Ref to suspicious person. Call was on Walton St., neighbors advised that they heard glass break near the house. Residence checked ok.
  • Suspicious person, Spruce Ln. Clown seen running through comps yard. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Officer observed vehicle and occupants taking campaign signs from in front of the court house on Hammond Dr. Stopped vehicle at Unisia and Church St. report taken.
  • Dispute, East Spring St., Walton Security Storage. Little Debbie delivery man accused of hiding male subject’s ex-girlfriend. The two men had never met prior to this encounter, Male subject possibly has medical issues and was advised to return to Danielsville.
