Monroe PD Reports: Reported domestic stomp turns out to just be a noisy romp

Monroe PD responded to the following calls between  Nov. 3 – 10, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the fourth post for this period. Please note an arrest or a charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harmful Threats, South Broad St.,  granddaughter advised her grandmother took a bunch of medication, EMS checked with her and she only took her prescribed medication and did not want to harm herself or be treated, all ok.
  • Domestic problem, Green St., complainant advised she got into a fight with a guy named after he called her a crack head and she got a laceration on her hand, EMS checked, report made.
  • Domestic problem, Walker Dr., complainant advised that two subjects were fighting, actually it was only a verbal argument and loud intercourse, no fight.
  • Damage to Property, Nowell St., complainant Milton Jeff advised subject threw a brick through his window, subject said he was asleep and Jeff wanted him to leave, advised eviction process.  Milton Jeff arrested for two failure to appear warrants out of Monroe
  • Suspicious Activity, Custom Way, caller advised he could hear banging and screaming from next door neighbor. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Entering Auto, Plaza Trace, complainant advised someone stole items from her vehicle between 0645 – 0700 hours. Most items were recovered in the woods and trash dumpster adjacent to residence.
  • Child Abuse, Michael Circle, mother called from Florida to advise her daughter was assaulted last date by her father.
  • Theft report taken at Monroe Police Department, mother advised her son was arrested last date by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Reckless Conduct – discharging a firearm in the air. Mother stated her son must have stolen her weapon from her vehicle and needed an incident report to get her weapon back.
  • Damage to Property, Union St., complainant advised someone slashed her tires.
  • Warrant Service at the Newton County Detention Center. Jay James arrested on failure to appear warrant out of Monroe.
  • Dispute, Davis St., in reference to male subject disputing with female. Female advised male subject made threats towards her and her family. There were no witnesses to this incident.
  • Damage to Property, Russell Dr., Hammond Park. Employee advised someone broke three (3) toilets and started a fire in a trash can in the park restroom.
  • Domestic, Ridge Rd., male subject and female subject were involved in a physical altercation on Highway 78 at Unisia Drive. Male subject grabbed female’s hand and squeezed it, causing redness and swelling. The subject also punched the windshield causing damage in front of their son. Warrants to be taken for male subjects arrest.
  • Welfare Check, Hickory Dr., caller requested officer make contact with mother regarding her juvenile missing a follow-up appointment in Athens Regional Medical Center. Location checked with negative contact – Vacant residence.
  • Fraud report taken at Monroe Police Department,. complainant advised she’s been scammed out of $1,800.00
  • Domestic on North Broad St. near Midland Ave., caller advised a black female and male were disputing inside a vehicle. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Entering Auto, Ridge Rd., Vehicle entered between 2230 – 0720 hours this date. No items taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Thompson Ridge Dr., caller advised a silver Jeep was seen driving around the neighborhood. Extra patrol requested. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person on East Washington St. in reference to a black male on a bicycle asking people for money. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Civil Issue, 6th St., complainant advised he had a notice on his rental house from the city stating he house was uninhabitable due to no electricity in the home. Subject was advised to speak with code department.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Highway 138 near Highway 78. Caller advised a maroon passenger vehicle nearly struck her vehicle. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suicide Attempt on North Broad St. at the Highway 78 bridge. Male subject was standing on bridge looking over. Mother recently passed away and he stated he had no intentions of harming himself. Taken home and advised family members of situation along with the crisis hotline number.
  • Dispute, Bell St., complainant advised he located his stolen bicycle in the front yard. Owner of residence advised he was unfamiliar with the owner of the bicycle so complainant took possession of his property.
  • Juvenile runaway, Pierce St., juvenile got in trouble at school and left the house prior to her parents getting home. Located juvenile at Hammond Park and returned her to her residence.
  • Entering auto, Edwards St., complainant advised that his car was broke into and change was taken. Declined a report, just wants extra patrol.
  • Fight, Chestnut Ln., Anonymous complainant advised that a named male subject and several others attempting to fight. Searched the area with no contact.
  • Fire assist, Spruce Ln., Resident advised that someone placed a log on his fire pit while he was not at the residence and it was smoking. Resident poured water on the log to extinguish the smoldering log.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Dunkin Donuts, Ref to a blue passenger car with Kentucky plates left the area with a subject holding a baby on their lap. Searched the area with no contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Tim Stewart, Flagged down in reference to a blue Mustang on location. Searched the area with no contact.
  • Miscellaneous, Clearview, complainant advised that mother took their 4 month old to Clearview to be checked to see if the baby had been molested. Nurse checked the 4-month-old and advised that all was good. Incident documented.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart, Charquavia Grant was arrested for shoplifting.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Hwy 78 (Waffle House), Ref to occupants of the vehicle were talking about alcohol. Vehicle left prior to arrival.
  • Suspicious person, S. Madison Ave., complainant’s husband saw someone in the yard behind vehicle near the wood line. Searched the area with no contact.
  • Dispute, Haven Inn & Suites, male subject was in room # when a female subject had just paid for the room. Male subject had a key to the room and advised that the previous employee had rented him the room. Owner advised that he would get male subject another room and check with the previous employee to find out where male subject’s paperwork was.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Hwy 138 approaching the City – Ref to a tractor trailer failing to maintain lane. Tractor trailer pulled into Clearview construction site. Did not observe any violations.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Hwy 78 at Unisia Drive. Caller advised a white Ford Escape was failing to maintain its lane. Area checked and vehicle located in the Walmart parking lot, unoccupied.
