Update: Monroe Public Safety Director Keith Glass released the following statement regarding an early morning fire in Monroe that resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child.
The City of Monroe Fire Department (MFD) responded to a 6:05 am structure fire at 417 Shamrock Dr. The residence was fully engulfed by flames when Firefighters arrived. MFD and units of the Walton County Fire Rescue (WCFR) located Quentin Omario Moses (DOB 11/18/1983) unconscious and moved him outside where CPR was rendered until he was transported to Clearview Medical Center where he was declared dead upon arrival. Firefighters continued to search for other possible victims as they battled the fire. The roof collapsed as the fire was being brought under control. The bodies of 10 year old Jasmine Godard and her mother Andria Godard (DOB 04/07/1985) were recovered from the debris of the fire. MFD, MPD, City and State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire. “On behalf of the City of Monroe, we are all sadden by this life taking tragedy; our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families.”

Officials confirm that a dog was also found deceased inside the home. One on a chain outside was rescued and is now in the custody of Animal Control.
According to DawgNation, Moses was a former UGA and NFL football player, initially drafted after playing at UGA from 2003 to 2006 by the Oakland Raiders before playing in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins. In 2010, he went on to coach and was currently listed as a defensive line coach at Reinhardt University.

Officials confirm that there were fatalities involved in the fire crews responded to on Shamrock Drive in the City of Monroe.
According to Public Safety Director Keith Glass, crews from Monroe Fire Department and Walton County Fire Rescue responded to a fatal structure fire at 417 Shamrock Drive at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.
“The house was fully engulfed on arrival,” Glass said.
