Monroe PD Reports: Dispute erupted when customer wanted to pay for gas in pennies

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Oct. 23 – 29, 2015. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the fourth part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

  • Subject transported, for C.I.D, from E. Washington Street to Monroe Police Department, Subject later released and transported back to E. Washington.  
  • Area check at Camptown Gardens & Towler Street reference to a welfare check on female subject. Her sister was advising she may have been assaulted by a named male subject. No contact with female subject. Neighbors advised she was at work.
  • Suspicious Vehicle call at Coker Park, Taylor Smith, in possession of marijuana less than an ounce. Tag expired on vehicle. Arrested and Turned Over To Walton Co. Jail, vehicle impounded by towing company.
  • Harassment Report taken at MPD Lobby, complainant being harassed via E-Mail. Junk e-mails, Spam, advised to delete and not to respond. All ok.
  • Damage to property call on Harris Street, complainant advised a piece of his mail was torn in half when he got it from the mail box. Complainant just wanted police to know about it. Complainant was also advised to notify his mail carrier if the problem continues.
  • Welfare check call on 4th St., Ref. to unauthorized persons on location, area and location checked residence is locked up and unoccupied.
  • Follow up at Madison Market regarding entering auto. Suspects possibly in building across street.
  • Burglary call on Towler St., complainant said they have been gone for a couple weeks since their trailer was burglarized. They returned last night to find a brick thrown through the window.
  • Quality Foods. Carron Smith arrested suspended license and tag light.
  • Juvenile complaint, West Creek Circle, subject advised juveniles on location while parents were at the boot leggers. Spoke to homeowners who advised they did not call police and the juveniles were their kids. All ok.
  • Accident on Magnolia St., Johnny Cooper arrested after accident with road sign. Cooper arrested for improper backing and DUI less safe. Refused implied consent .172 on PBT.
  • Alarm call on Davis St., Officers arrived to find a front window broken, with a rock lying on inside floor. No entry made. Report taken.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle on Highway 78w @ Highway 11, Jacquasia Smith for disorderly conduct (false name and dob) and parole warrant.
  • Suspicious person’s call on N Midland Av., regrding two subjects knocking on door. Made contact with Cartavious Towler and Robert Heard on porch. Located small baggy of crack cocaine on porch where they were standing. Both arrested for VGCSA.
  • Burglary call on West Creek Circle, complainant advised he left his home for approx. 30 minutes and returned to his Xbox and handicap scooter taken. No forced entry and no serial numbers provided.
  • Area check call in the area of Felker St. in regards to female screaming for help. Negative contact, all appeared ok.
  • Illegal dumping call on E. Washington St. Unknown subject leaving trash in complainant’s yard. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint taken at MPD Lobby. Incident occurred at Carver Middle School. Referred to SRO at school.
  • Burglary call on Dorothy Dr. complainant advised unknown subject entered residence through front door between 12am and 9am. TV, $25.00 cash, and 2 pair of Nike shoes.
  • Domestic Problem call on Ridge Rd., complainant on location to check welfare of sister All ok, verbal only.
  • Domestic problem call on Bryant Rd., 2 subjects were verbally disputing. 1 subject gone prior to arrival, all ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle call on Hwy 78E towards Monroe. Red Chevy Silverado driven by W/M possibly drinking. Stopped vehicle, driver all ok.
  • Entering auto call at Radford Park., complainant advised her unlocked vehicle was entered on 10-25-2015 and change was taken. Requested extra patrol, advised she notices a lot of juveniles walking the streets at night.
  • Civil Issue call on Maple Ln., female disputing with Property Manager over inspecting the property and eviction.  Property manager advised to pursue this issue in civil court and if female was violating lease agreement, have her evicted.
  • Follow-up call at Maple Ln. Apt., subject back on location trying to take pictures of property for damage. Advised that she can’t enter residence without notification to tenant. All ok.
  • Temporary Protection Order violation report taken at MPD lobby, complainant reporting that he is being contacted by subject that was served TPO from complainant.
  • Dispute call on Bold Springs Rd, (Allstar) Customer wanted to pay for fuel with pennies. Clerk would not accept pennies due to customer being rude. Second customer paid for fuel, all ok.
  • Civil Issue call at WCSO lobby, complainant had civil questions regarding child custody. All ok.
  • Burglary call on Colquitt St., owner advised his vacant property was forcibly entered between 10/24/15 and today. No items were taken. Also advised residence has been vandalized over past several months. Report taken.
  • Theft report taken at Monroe PD lobby, Complainant reported she sold a vehicle to male subject for a vehicle in return.  Male subject sold vehicle without compensating complainant, theft by conversion report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle call on Hwy 78 at Unicia Dr., Report of green Dodge driving erratically, area checked with no contact.
  • Dispute call on Plaza Dr., Report that male subject was on location refusing to leave.  Male subject went to wait for his ride at Huddle House.
  • 911 hang up call on Baron Dr., Children on line, all ok.
  • Misc. Law call at McDonalds, Report of a black Nissan Titan circling the business, requested area check, area checked with negative contact of vehicle.
