Monroe PD Report: Man at Waffle House looking for man he claims stole diamonds worth millions

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Oct. 23 – 29, 2015. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the third part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

  • Other Law, MPD Lobby, complainant advised that her deceased husbands son is driving a truck that she is allowing him to drive which she was awarded, and now he is refusing to return the truck. Report taken, civil matter over property. A follow up will be made with the son, who officers are familiar with, to return the truck. Contact was made with Walton County S.O. OIC, complainant will file a report with the County due to the truck being in Loganville in the County.
  • Damage to Property call on South Broad St., landlord and tenant. The landlord advised damage was done to the residence by prior tenant. Advised of Civil process.
  • Suspicious Vehicle call, the complainant was calling from Statum, advising female subject is possibly in Monroe driving her White Toyota Corolla and is not licensed. No contact with vehicle or driver in Old Mill Point area and Arnold Property area.  Complainant advised to call her local police department if she wanted to report the vehicle missing, overdue, or stolen.
  • Open door on Mill Stone Bluff, officer noticed open back door while on patrol, neighbors advised the resident has not been home in approximately two weeks. Rear door left open. No forced entry. Many items inside the residence. The residence was cleared and secured. No contact with home owner.
  • Civil Matter call on Plaza Dr., complainant had questions regarding a vehicle that she co-signed for with her son to purchase. Complainant referred to Magistrate Court.  No further.
  • Officer called to Pick-up subject with warrants from Madison County Jail, James Puckett, warrants for Failure To Appear. Transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Alarm call on E Church St screen on back porch cut and wet foot prints on back porch but no entry made into home. Neighbors said they saw four black males with hoodies in the front yard. Owner arrived on scene and declined report.
  • Stolen vehicle call on S Madison Ave., 2011 Kia Sportage with dealer tag from Allen’s Auto taken. Vehicle was recently purchased last week. The marks on the ground it appears a wrecker picked up the car. After checking with the dealer, 911 logs and local wreckers there was no log of it being repo. Vehicle entered onto GCIC.
  • Domestic problem call on Forest Lane, verbal dispute between three subjects, parties separated for the evening advised all parties on civil processes.
  • Officer’s call to Sorrel’s St., ref to a welfare check on father’s 3-year-old child on Turner St. Child OK.
  • Dispute call on Buckingham Ct., complainant said his mother came to his house causing a disturbance. Complainant said he told his mom 6 months ago to cease all communication but every now and then she arrives at his house unexpected. Advised of the Temporary Protection Order process.
  • Counterfeit money call at truck stop male subject attempted to pass fraudulent 20$ bill, male subject claimed he was unaware and paid with legitimate bills clerk did not want to press charges.
  • Entering auto at The Market on north Madison, complainant left his keys inside his unlocked vehicle – a man entered vehicle and removed the keys before fleeing on foot towards Sycamore square apts.
  • Prowler report call on Pine Park, complainant advised they heard someone on the front porch. Complainant did not see the person, area checked, no contact.
  • Welfare check on Highway 78, complainant said her mom was supposed to pick her up by 2. Just before her mom’s ex-boyfriend came to Waffle House and stated she better have some cigarettes because she was going to need them. Complainant felt that mom’s ex-boyfriend did something to her mom due to past history. Officer’s went to Walker Dr. and made contact with her mom who overslept. Advised of the TPO process. All ok.
  • Harassment call at Waffle House on Highway 11, unknown man called stating he was a PI from Rhode Island and asked for another unknown male saying that he stole $10 million in diamonds from him and he was looking to kill him. Rhode Island man said the subject he is looking for frequents Waffle House in Athens area.
  • Warrant pick-up from Gwinnett County S.O. Aumand R. Tate, FTA Monroe. Transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Officer’s responded to MLK Blvd., employee at Car wash wanted a report in reference to a two vehicles having an accident in the car wash on 10/23. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property report call on S. Broad St., complainant advised her vehicle was damaged while at WalMart and requested a report.
  • Domestic problem call in by third party on S. Broad St., subject possibly has a knife. Son arguing with his mother. On-going issues between parties. Mother taking son to his aunt’s residence in Covington. Situation mediated at this time.
  • Harassing phone calls report taken at MPD Lobby, complainant advised male subject is sending text messages regarding him being with his ex-girlfriend. Report taken.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle on, E. Washington & S. Madison Ave. The driver Walter Johnson arrested for driving while suspended and invalid tag.
  • Dispute call on Sorrells St., complainant advised male subject was refusing to give her property. Male subject was gone prior to officer’s arrival. Complainant was advised to call us back when she returned for her property.
  • 911 hang up call on Davis St., complainant advised she was in a verbal dispute with male subject, both parties advised to stay away from one another.
  • Follow up on Sorrell’s Street – complainant back on location with a key to obtain the rest of her property. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle call on location at G.W. Homes behind. Vehicle removed by Jay’s due to being on location with suspended tag and being abandon for over two months.
