Monroe Police Department is seeking information on a shooting Friday afternoon. Police have a person of interest and expect an arrest soon. They are asking for information from anyone who may know anything about this crime.
According to a press release from MPD, the shooting took place on or near the area of Green Street. at about 5:42 p.m. An officer patrolling the area of Carver Place advised dispatch that he would be checking the area in reference to hearing six gunshots. As other Officers responded, dispatch advised that they received a 911 call in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound in the area of Green Street. The victim, Feshown Deantrea Cooper, of Monroe, was transported to Clearview Regional Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. Evidence was collected at the crime scene, on Launius Avenue near Perry Street, and a person of interest identified.
