Monroe PD Reports: Juvenile turned over to mother after shoplifting beer

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between Nov. 20 – 24, 2015. This report is split into four parts due to the length. This is the second part for this period. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

  • Dispute call on Tanglewood Ln., two subjects and other subjects over money taken earlier this date.
  • Suspicious vehicle call on Harris St. /E Church St. Gray Ford SUV driving in wrong lane. Area checked and contact made @ Jack Peters grocery, all ok.
  • Juvenile complaint @ MAHS. Mother wanted escort to find her daughter at game. Advised staff and MPD officers inside would assist, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person call on S. Broad Street at Legacy House; Elderly male left on foot and later returned, all ok.
  • Harassment call at Quality Foods; complainant advised she was being followed and bothered by ex-boyfriend.  Subject was GOA, report made.  Negative contact at subject’s residence.
  • Wanted person call on S. Broad Street; male subject had two warrants, on Meth and possibly had a pistol concealed near trashcan.  Grandma let us search, negative contact with him or pistol.
  • Shoplifting call at Jack Peters Grocery; Juvenile arrested for shoplifting a beer.  Complaint filed, subject turned over to mother.
  • 911 Hang-up on Gatewood Drive; all ok, juveniles playing on phone.
  • Domestic problem call on W. Creek Cir; Subject intoxicated and refusing to leave, subject advised to head home and he complied, all ok.
  • Disturbing the Peace call on Mill Street; Large crowd in the area being disruptive, crowd ignored complainant when asked to calm down.  All GOA, negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle @ S. Broad St and Vine St; Vehicle speeding and reckless, area checked negative contact.
  • Domestic problem call on Bridgeport Pl; Subject becoming violent broke out bedroom window, subject has medical condition.
  • Suspicious Person @ Mill Street and Broad Street; Subject walking down the middle of street, officer identified male subject.  Subject consented to search found a trace amount of marijuana.  Male subject was advised to head directly home.  Trace amount thrown away.
  • Firearms Discharged call on Davis Street; shot heard in area possibly from Lacy Street, area checked no contact.
  • Suspicious Person @ Valero E. Spring Street; officer flagged down about three males being suspicious at Country Hearth Inn, negative contact.
  • Assist call at Clearview; female patient being disruptive, subject was restrained and sedated, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person call on E. Spring Street; comp advised she observed a homeless person, area checked negative contact.
  • Prowler call on Tall Oaks Ln; Comp advised someone was knocking on door, negative contact.
  • Damage to Property call on Bryant Rd; Comp advised neighbor backed their camper into the fence, report made.
  • Suspicious Person @ Skyline trace; complainant reported six subjects about to fight in area, Comp possibly intoxicated, negative contact with subjects.
  • Suspicious Vehicle @ CVS Pharmacy on S. Broad Street; intoxicated driver south on Broad, area checked no contact.
  • Disturbing the Peace @ Nowell Street; large party in the area, subject advised to disperse, all ok.
  • Prowler call on Creek View Drive; Comp has medical condition and advising someone is trying to steal her catalytic converter, residence and car checked, all ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle @ CVS Pharmacy; subjects were lost looking for directions, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person @ N. Broad Street and Golden Pantry; two male subjects on location, one subject was intoxicated, both sent away.
  • Theft @ Colley St., complainant stated unknown subject entered her pocketbook and stole her ID card, VA medical card, and VA pharmacy card.
  • Dekalb County Jail ready for pick-up. Marie Conner arrested for two Failure to Appear  warrants through Monroe.
  • Domestic problem call on Turner St.  Verbal dispute between male and female subjects. Original dispute started at Magnolia Terrace and ended here. Parties separated.
  • Domestic problem call on Edwards St. between two subjects over Xbox One from Aaron’s Rental. All ok, verbal only, parties separated.
  • Civil Issue call on N Midland Ave., complainant on location to retrieve property. Homeowner would not answer the door. Complainant advised to try again later.
  • Suspicious person call on E Marable @ Gatewood subdivision. B/M walking neighborhood and looking in houses. Negative contact.
  • Runaway juvenile call on Roosevelt St.  Mother stated 17-year-old son ran away from home 2 weeks ago. Report taken, 17-year-old will be entered on GCIC.
  • Domestic problem call on Radford St.  Verbal dispute between two subjects. One subject cited for disorderly conduct. Juvenile female (16-year-old-) tased and charged w/ simple assault and disorderly conduct. Juvenile released to her mother on scene.
  • Assault call on W Spring St. (Clearview) Subject stated he was assaulted at Tanglewood earlier this date by male subject due to subject wanted to ask male subject 14-year-old daughter out.
  • Suspicious person call on E Washington St. W/M and W/F in area gathering pecans and trespassing. Area checked on foot, no contact.
