Monroe PD Reports: Family mediation after video game confiscated, suspicious person just playing Pokemon Go

Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between  July 15 – 21, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the fifth part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Welfare check, 6th St. in regards to female subject quit Security Finance and co-workers concerned for her safety (domestic related) Negative contact at residence but contact made by phone. All ok.
  • Theft, E. Fambrough St., complainant stated sometime last night, unknown person(s) came onto property and stole dog kennel ($300.00) report taken.
  • Arrest pick up for CID. Eric Sheats transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Emergency message, Michael Etchison Rd., complainant at Clearview trying to reach husband of patient who is in ER at Clearview Regional Medical Center. Contact was made and husband advised he was not going to pick his wife up. Follow up at Clearview Regional and Adult protective services was advised.
  • Officer’s called to N. Madison Ave. in regards to welfare check. Subject lives at Pine Park and has had domestic issues in past. Contact made, all ok.
  • Dispute report, Tanglewood Dr., complainant advised female subject has been following her and trying to fight her. Complainant wanted incident documented and advised of civil remedies.
  • Hit and Run, John’s Supermarket. Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office deputy witnessed hit and run in parking lot and followed vehicle to E. Spring St. and officer assisted with traffic stop. Scene was turned over to GSP.
  • Domestic Dispute, Sherwood Dr., male and female subject in verbal argument over infidelity and drug usage. Male was gone upon officer’s arrival. Female called a friend to pick her up and she took her belongings with her. Documentation report
  • Domestic Dispute, Launius Ave., father advised he found bruises on his 4-year-old daughter. Father got into argument with the child’s mother, about the bruises. Location of incident is unknown. Father did not want DFACS involved. Child abuse referral form was filed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Green St., complainant advised subjects were dirt bikes on the roadway. Negative contact with the dirt bikes.
  • Miscellaneous Law, West Spring St., Quality Foods, complainant requested an escort to Highland Terrace in reference to retrieving property and needed an officer for his bond conditions. No one was at the residence.
  • Welfare Check, Tall Oaks Lane, complainant advised female subject will not return her calls. Residence was vacant. Property worker advised the resident was evicted this past Monday.
  • Dispute, Spruce Lane, Man shoved subject and was arrested for simple battery family violence.
  • Suspicious Person, on South Madison Ave. and East Spring St., Female advised she was homeless and asking for food.
  • Fire Assist, Plaza Dr., complainant advised juveniles set a small portion of the woods on fire. Monroe Fire Department responded and distinguished the fire. Turned over to Monroe Fire.
  • Harassment, Classic Trail, complainant advised her neighbor is harassing her. Spoke with neighbor who denied harassing anyone. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, White Oak Dr., complainant advised a white SUV followed him home, so he started following them while contacting police. The white females were older females who trying to get to Oak Wood Dr, but continued driving once they saw him.
  • Suspicious Person, on Stokes St., Male was looking through trash on the side of the road. Warrants out of Arkansas. No extradition.
  • Domestic Dispute, East Marable St., mother advised she wanted her daughter removed from the house. Daughter was advised of the eviction and she decided to leave for the evening. Verbal argument only.
  • Suspicious Person, on South Hammond Dr., 15 year old observed walking alongside South Hammond Dr. passed curfew. Escorted to grandparents and turned over to them.
  • Suspicious Person, on Broad Street and Lumpkin, Male in car playing POKEMON GO!
  • Suspicious Vehicle, in front of Green St., Larry Floyd Harris had an active warrant out of Monroe Police. Harris arrested and transported to Walton County Jail
  • Domestic, Bold Springs Ave., complainant called in reference to two sister’s having a verbal altercation. Situation mediated. Report taken for documentation.
  • Burglary, West Tall Oaks Dr., complainant advised someone opened a bedroom window, but did not gain entry into residence. Window was unsecured and son was acting very suspicious during call.
  • Arrest, Alcovy St. Suite, Subject arrested for Probation Violation.
  • Suspicious person, Baker St., W/F in back of apartments jumping fence to cross property. Area checked w/ negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, S. Broad St. (Dollar General) W/F on location, suspect from previous shoplifting. Contact w/ subject and served w/ Prohibited Entry.
  • Suspicious person, N. Broad St. W/F in front of business w/ massage sign. Contact made and female advised of loitering and prowling then sent on her way.
  • Suspicious person, S. Broad St. (John’s Supermarket), male subject siphoning bad gas out of his vehicle into the parking lot. Monroe Fire arrived to put absorbent on gas and subject cited for illegal dumping.
  • Juvenile problem, Plaza Dr., 3-year-old child in area and unknown where parents are. Parents located, all ok.
  • Arrest, Alcovy St., Austin Mitcham arrested for Probation Violation.
  • Welfare check on W. Spring St. near GWA. W/M on scooter riding on side of road. Contact made w/ subject who was ok.
  • Fraud, John Deere Rd. in regards to attempted phone scam. Complainant stated she was contacted by subject from Mega Millions requesting money order for claim of winnings. No money order was sent, report requested.
  • Dispute, S. Madison Ave. between resident and friend over property left on location by friend, advised to wait by road and wait on help w/ moving property. Resident was ok w/ friend waiting on help to move items. Situation mediated.
  • Area check, E. Washington St. in regards to male subject in area where mother resides and is not to have contact w/ her. Subject wearing white t-shirt and gray sweat pants and missing out of Gwinnett County. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd., complainant in dispute w/property manager over deposit money. Situation was mediated
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 138 @ Michael Etchison in regards to white van unable to maintain lane. Vehicle on 78 East towards Athens before contact could be made, county notified.
  • Theft report taken at MPD lobby. Complainant stated male subject an employee who resides in Monroe has not shown up for work and still has her company equipment. Company located in Alpharetta, advised to file criminal charges with that agency. Requested report due to subject living in city.
  • Warrant arrest, W. Spring St. (Walmart) contact was made subject – arrested for child support warrant. Arrest, Alcovy St., two subject arrested and transported to Walton County Jail for Probation Violation.
  • Suspicious person, E. Spring St. (Laundry mat) two men jumped fence and cut through property. Contact made at Glen Iris, advised not to jump fence
  • Child custody dispute, Atha St., mother had court paperwork stating that the temp guardianship was dissolved and her kids were to be returned to her. After numerous knocks on the door to the residence, nobody would answer. Mother stated that female subject is refusing to give her the kids. Report was taken.
  • Harassment report taken at MPD lobby. Complainant advised an unknown male has been calling her phone and leaving sexual voicemails and describing sexual acts. Report was taken and CID was notified. Complainant requested extra patrol throughout night time hours due to being home alone.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Carmichael Drugs; Camper parked on location for last few days, vehicle unoccupied.  After speaking with several businesses, no permission granted for overnight parking, advised Tractor Supply that they would have to have it towed.
  • Domestic problem, Meadow Walk Dr. at Gratis Rd; two subjects in a verbal dispute, situation mediated and parties separated, report made.
  • Domestic Problem, Hitachi, complainant said she was choked by her child’s father in James Monroe Homes and he had a handgun.  Warrants to be taken for Agg Assault, Child Cruelty, and negative contact with father.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Fawnfield Dr; 12-year-old upset over having her video game taken away, situation mediated.
