
Monroe Police Department announced that they have made an arrest in the shooting of a 17-year-old last month. Lt. Tracey Hanson announced that Trentavious Watkins, 17, surrendered to MPD Tuesday morning.
MPD put out a BOLO for Watkins after officers were dispatched to Wheel House Lane on July 26, 2016, regarding two vehicles leaving the area after firearms had been discharged. They were then dispatched to Clearview Regional Medical Center regarding a 17-year-old with multiply gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. The injuries were considered non-life threatening.
Warrants were secured for Watkins for aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a minor, discharging a firearm near a public street and reckless conduct. He is now in police custody.
