Monroe Police Department responded to the following calls between July 22 – 28, 2016. This report is split into four parts due to the length. This is the second part for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Enter auto, Carver Place, complainant stated unknown suspect entered unlocked vehicle overnight and stole briefcase. Report taken
- Dispute, W. Spring St. (McDonald’s) complainant advised unknown suspect in drive through became upset that she received order before unknown suspect and then unknown suspect started taking pictures of her vehicle. All ok.
- Enter auto, Plaza Trace (Country Grove Apartments) complainant stated sometime last night between 0200 and 0930, unknown suspect entered vehicle through back glass and stole backpack w/ tablet and watch. Report taken, partial print lifted at scene.
- Enter auto, Bryant Rd., complainant’s 2004 Buick entered and black Empire bag taken w/ hair dressing tools and products, $20.00 cash, and a $409.00 reimbursement check made out to caller. Son’s vehicle also entered and $45.00 jams speaker stolen. Report taken.
- Enter auto, Cherokee Ave., complainant stated heavyset B/F wearing jean shorts and glasses just entered his truck 30 minutes prior and stole an iPhone 5 off the dash of F-100. Report taken, area checked for female.
- Suspicious vehicle on Charlotte Rowell Blvd., white truck speeding and headed towards Conyers on Hwy 138. Vehicle out of city limits by time to area, county advised.
- Shoplifting, E. Spring St. (Dollar General) B/M wearing blue shirt and jeans stole socks, shirts, and Armor All wax. Area checked with negative contact. Report taken.
- Arrest on E. Marable St. at N. Broad St., officer made contact with Triya Roberts, Roberts arrested for Monroe warrant and County warrant.
- Officer’s called to MPD lobby, complainant requesting information on hospital evaluation process and contacting probation regarding her daughter. All OK.
- Suspicious person, E. Spring St., (Laundry mat) B/M wearing blue shirt and jeans in area. Officer tried to make contact and B/M ran towards Mobley Circle. Officer made contact w/ B/M on E. Spring St. and B/M Kenneth Brinson arrested for shoplifting, two counts of disorderly conduct, and warrants through Gwinnett, Walton, and Newton county. Brinson identified as B/M from earlier shoplifting at Dollar General.
- Arrest pick-up at Barrow County. Megan Moore arrested from Barrow County for Monroe City warrant-FTA and transported to Walton County Jail.
- Officer called to Lacy St., in regards to retrieving property. Contact made with complainant and property retrieved, all ok.
- Stopping suspicious vehicle on GW Carver Dr. at Broad St; Alexandra Garner arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, Drug Related Objects.
- Domestic problem, Wheel House Lane; Two people in a domestic on 07/23/2016, report taken.
- Fraud, 6th St., complainant wanted to inform officers that she received a call from CNA in regards to bill collection from a hospital bill in 2006. Declined Report.
- Entering Auto, Bryant Rd; Occurred day before, make up and papers taken. Report taken.
- Loud Music complaint, Davis St., music was turned off.
- Suspicious Person, Walker Dr., two black male subjects at vacant house, negative contact, vacant residence cleared.
- Suspicious Person at Walmart; Young female loitering in the parking lot, checked all ok.
- Domestic problem, Hubbard St., male and female subjects were making noise and couldn’t sleep, male was gone on arrival and has active warrant. Negative contact
- Suspicious Person at Hammond Park; male and female subjects on site talking, advised to leave the park after dark.
- Entering Auto, Good Hope Rd/Forrest St. / Wood Acres, Multiple vehicles discovered entered. Multiple black male subjects seen by a complainant running from the area, area checked.
- Suspicious Person, E. Church and Unisia; male subject riding a bike in the area to Laboon Rd; Possible entering auto suspect.
- Damage to Property, Plaza Dr., and complainant was visiting a friend. Unknown person slashed all four tires on Toyota Avalon. Report taken.
- Suspicious Person, S. Hammond and Cherokee Ave; subject walking in the area carrying two packs of Ramen Noodles to Wall Street.
- Theft Report, Davis St., Stated he left a small trailer at the residence and was missing when returned at 0340. Report taken.
- Enter auto, Forrest St., complainant advised sometime overnight, five vehicles unlocked in driveway were entered but no items taken.
- Enter auto, Cedar Ln., complainant advised sometime overnight, work van was unlocked and entered but no items appeared to be taken.
- Welfare check, GW Carver Dr., complainant could not get hold of friend at Apt. I made contact at Apt. with subject, all was ok.
- Follow up, Dorothy Dr., complainant advised that she located the trailer that was taken from her deceased brother’s residence during the night. The trailer was located on Davis St., complainant declined to press charges and stated she would pick up the trailer. Supplemental to be added to report.
- Enter auto, Woodacres Rd., complainant reported that his two vehicles were entered overnight but no items were taken and doors were left unlocked. Complainant went through vehicles prior to arrival.
- Domestic problem, W. Creek Circle, complainant stated he was tired of stepson’s behavior and being disrespectful to him and his mother. Stepson was gone with mother while on location. Complainant requested report due to ongoing issue with stepson.
- Threats, Rosewood Ln. in reference to threats made to father. Letter was delivered to MPD about threats son was making from hospital he was admitted to. Contact was made with female subject who was familiar with threats, report taken.
- Domestic problem, Oak St., Verbal dispute between two male subjects over living arrangements. One subject advised of civil remedies, all ok.
- Welfare check, Arcadia Crt. in regards to 10-year-old juvenile. Contact was made, all ok.
- Drug sale info taken at MPD lobby. 14-year-old juvenile stated a man (gave name) tried to sell him weed. Juvenile spoke w/ officer, turned over to FIT.
- Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 138 towards Monroe from Walnut Grove. Silver Honda Civic speeding. Officer stopped vehicle, all ok.
- Civil, Plaza Dr., complainant stated she discovered severe mold in her pantry and wanted it documented due to Arnold Properties not taking action to remove mold. Report taken.
- Suspicious vehicle Wheelhouse Ln. in regards to maroon Kia occupied by three B/M and four gun shots heard. Area checked with negative contact.
- Gunshot wound, W. Spring St. (Clearview) related to suspicious vehicle call at Walton Mill. Male subject shot another male subject in right leg 3 times, in arm 2 times and then fled scene in small blue passenger car. Crime scene was secured and officer processed. Athens-Clarke county, Walton County, and GSP advised of BOLO and possible locations of connections. Warrants to be taken by officer for shooter. (Update – shooter has been arrested.)
